Vibro Acoustics: Projects

Vibro-Acoustics is the link between mechanical vibrations and acoustics. It permits the simulation of coupled and uncoupled structural / fluid systems. We simulate:
Teaser Vibroakustik 2022 04 06 09 24 50
  • interior noise and exterior noise
  • sound radiation: sound pressure, sound velocity, sound intensity, sound power, sound emission
  • interaction between interior acoustics, structure borne noise and airborne noise
  • durability of liquid-conducting mechanical components (cavitations)
  • acoustical transfer paths (noise path analysis)
  • sensibility of mechanical components with respect to noise excitation
We develop proposals for design measures to reduce sound emissions, minimize interior noise, avoid unwanted sound paths and minimize mechanical loads.
Vibroacoustics is the link between mechanical vibrations and acoustics. The degree of fluid-structure coupling can vary greatly.
Heavy, rigid structures form reverberant acoustic boundary conditions. The vibrating surfaces radiate sound. The feedback effect of the acoustic medium on the mechanical structure is only weakly pronounced. The acoustic and mechanical eigenmodes (modes) are only very weakly coupled.
In contrast, strongly coupled vibroacoustic modes occur with light and flexible structures and/or with liquid acoustic media. In this case, the structure can be significantly excited to vibrate by the acoustic medium.
